HOW THE HACKATHON WORKS 

Build your team Register your team (5 members max) in advance or join a team on registration day (28 September). Multidisciplinary teams that have wide-ranging experience are highly regarded.

 

Develop a solution Use your team's expertise in IT, engineering, design, technology and/or health to solve real problems and build cool stuff with awesome people.

 

Compete The Best Tech Solution will receive $3,000 and a 3-month residency at I2N Hub Hunter Street with specialist mentorship valued at $4,600. The Runner-Up Tech Solution will receive $2,000. The Rising Star Award will acknowledge a standout team with a $500 reward.

As hardware developers make AR and VR headsets more affordable and user-friendly, startups are developing new use cases far beyond gaming – applying AR and VR to everything from marketing and advertising to medicine and healthcare to even space exploration and military training.

Further, the potential for this technology to help us understand and transform ourselves and the world around us is limitless. VR & AR can connect us and through education via immersive experiences creates awareness, and can lead the world to act on global issues.

We are making a call out to AR/VR experts and technical mentors. AR/VR domain experts are asked to contribute their professional vision and stimulate team exploration into specific AR/VR sector use cases. Technical mentors and experienced application developers are asked to contribute their know-how to coach teams from ideation through to final presentation.
